"WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL"…The Pledge of Allegiance "ENDOWED BY THEIR CREATOR WITH CERTAIN UNALIENABLE RIGHTS, THAT AMONG THESE ARE LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS."…The Declaration of Independence. "GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH"…Patrick Henry "NOW THE LORD IS THAT SPIRIT: AND WHERE THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS, THERE IS LIBERTY"…2nd Corinthians 3:17 KJV Yes: Liberty is far far more than just another name for freedom. It is the foundation on which America was built. To understand the meaning of Liberty, we must first understand the full definition of property. Consider: Our properties consist of ourselves, our thoughts, our words, our wills our actions and real property, that is, anything we attach ourselves to in a moral way. For example, I go to work and accomplish some service or produce a product. It is my property until my employer honors his contract with me; pays me. I go hunting and bag my game. I’ve staked a claim to that which was unclaimed. If we AGREE to exchange properties, whether the properties be thoughts, or words or wills, or actions or real properties; this action constitutes a willing exchange between property owners. Some call this the "Pursuit of Happiness." With the exception of a willing exchange, a legitimate claim or having property forfeited to me/us because of an adversary’s unright (immoral) or self-right (amoral) actions; acquiring property will always require the use of unright or self-right coercive force. Also; forcing someone to be an unwilling recipient of my properties: Both are wrong. THEY ARE INFRINGEMENTS ON LIBERTY. Freedom, on the other hand, it merely relates to status. As long as you are alive you have some degree of freedom even if it is limited to taking your next breath. Governments, like the one we now serve, they either change the definition of liberty to have the same one as freedom, or scrap it. Do not, I repeat do not, get suckered into accepting freedom in exchange for the liberty our forefathers fought and died that we might have. |
